This release of MOBI (SAP BusinessObjects Mobile BI - June 2011) secures SAPs position as a top tier of leader in the Mobile BI space. The user interface took a major leap forward over MOBI for RIM. Many people will compare the user experience to that of Roambi, which is deserved, although SAP still has some user-based improvements to make...and I am sure they will in the coming months. For proof of SAPs ability to deliver a full-functioning, solid Mobile BI app, see how robust their their Explorer app is!
All that said, the best feature of MOBI isnt its user interface. The best part of this app is how seamlessly it works with SAPs web-based BI tool - Webi. Web-based reports can be "mobile enabled" with incredible ease using MOBI. With this app, you dont have to develop "mobile reports" - you simply mobile-enable your existing reports. This feature makes the time-to-value highly compelling for MOBI vs. other apps.
One last thing - my favorite report on MOBI is the "sparkline." Very nifty!
This new version of MOBI for iPad easily extends reports you have already created in BusinessObjects with a simple and visually appeally UI. If youve already invested in BusinessObjects or the RIM version of MOBI, take it one step further and extend what youve built to your iPad users. This version even has some really cool microchart functionality that adds relevant visuals to tabular data.
Downloaded this to a brand new 64gb iPad with one other app installed. Opened this up and ran the daily sales report demo which keeps failing saying the app ran out of memory and to close it. I closed it (including from the multitasking menu), opened again, and the other demo report failed. Figured maybe something was up with the iPad and tried on another. Nope, its just SAP....doesnt work. SAP, it is one thing to be last getting your product out. But its another not to support basic features (landscape) and not thoroughly test it (as well as copy someone elses product).
Agree with the previous review. Got the same app memory error
It is still a joke with sap
